Jade Plant Leaves Keep Dropping

I read here that falling leaves was as result of underwatering but in other forums, that was overwatering. Which is correct? Because my jade plant started dropping leaves 3 weeks ago and that was probably due to overwatering. Then I let it dry for 2 weeks, then water a little and, yet, it drop leaves. In fact, even the slightest touch, leaves will fall. And baby leaves shrivel up right at the stem. I am not able to propagate the leaves, meaning the leaves which I left in the pot will shrivel up in a few days. What am I doing wrong? I am not putting it on the window sill where there is sun. Three weeks ago, there was no sun due to the weather here. Now the sun is back. I use very little fertilizer. Thanks in advance for you help.

Both are correct. Both underwatering and overwatering can cause leaf loss. With a jade plant, only water when the soil is dry at least one inch down into the soil, then water it thoroughly. Jade plants need bright but indirect light. I would hold off on fertilizing until the plant has recovered.
