Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comGood morning!
I apologize for the clear inexperience, I just love this plant and would like to save her!!
I have had this jade plant for more than 4 years. last year i had to cut many branches due to a huge infestation with scale bugs but she recovered ok. Last week I found some scale bugs but i cleaned the leaves and removed them all. The day after the plant was collapsed. I thought was a reaction to manipulation (I used alcohol to clean the bugs from leaves, but the other time she was just fine with that) or heat (we had some very hot days). Looking around the internet I found that this could be root rot. I cut one small branch to see whether I could find any sign of rot and did not see any, but perhaps the cut was higher than the rot. I am afraid of further damaging the plant so before I start cutting it down to see if is rotting I would love some advice. I attach photos of the plant. Please let me know what I should do!! Thank you very much!

I suspect that the plant broke due to excessive leaning weight. They have very brittle stems and need to be pruned or supported to avoid overburdened lean and susceptibility to breakage.

Thank You drtreelove. I have pruned my jade, and left very little of it, trying to get it to grow vertical rather than horizontal. Do you think it needs also a new pot?
Thanks
