Q.Jade plant

Candacerocha added on October 4, 2016 | Answered

My bird chewed the branches off my jade plant. They are good size branches. Can these be rooted? Everything I find talked about 4″ and smaller. These are 8-10 inches. And will the stump die?

Smaller cuttings are usually easier to root, so you should take smaller, 3-4 inch cuttings from the ends of the two cut-off branches. Here's how:

The stump may live, you never know. Be sure not to overwater it while it is attempting to recover since it won't be able to use as much wter.
