Q.Ivy Needs Cut and Shortened

Anonymous added on December 9, 2011 | Answered

I have an ivy plant that is getting too long. It reaches across the room. I need to know how or where to cut it and replant it without killing it. This is a plant that is about 5 years old.

This vigorous grower needs regular pruning to keep it in shape. You can prune the plant back by as much as half at a time without hurting it. Since it propagates easily, you can also root some of the cuttings if desired.
