can I still prune the pussy willow

It is near the end of July, can I still prune the pussy willow? This spring I discovered we had a pussy willow. There were only a few buds on a few of the branches. There are about a dozen stems, all about 6-7 feet tall. Will pruning help produce better stems?

Yes, pruning will rejuvenate your bush.
