Is Yucca Plant Poisonous?

We’ve been propogating a Yucca cutting for several weeks. However,  it seems our dog has been drinking from the water, which is in a coffee can (rusting).

He was at the vet recently for a check-up and has a high count of alkaline phosphatase, and we are now questioning if this could be related to drinking the water that our yucca was in.

It is hard for us to say if the yucca plant was related to your dog’s health issue. Yuccas are considered poisonous, but we could not find anything that linked it to your pet’s health problem. That being said, if she was just drinking the water, it is unlikely the yucca itself was the issue. But, if you were using a rooting hormone or a fertilizer, that may be connected. I hope your dog feels better soon.
