Is Vigaro Mulch Safe For A Vegetable Garden Bed?

We just planted several new plants that have been growing in doors for the last few months and this being our first attempt at growing fruits and vegetables, we put Vigaro Premium red mulch down and then watered everything. We were then told the colored mulch is toxic. Is this true because the bag says it is MSC certified. So, can we leave the mulch as is? If not if we remove it tomorrow, we put it down around 7:30 on Saturday 5/14, will the plants be safe to eat?

The problem with the colored mulch is not the dye, but the source of the wood. Recycled wood is used for the chips and there can be some question as to where the wood is sourced from and whether it is contaminated. But the MSC certification means it was tested for contaminants. If you are comfortable with that, go ahead and use the mulch. The dye will not harm the plants.
