Q.Is this fertiliser ok for potatoes?

Zone SA14 9DP | Anonymous added on February 17, 2020 | Answered

Can anybody tell me if N-P-K 12-11-18 is any good as a fertiliser for potatoes? As a local farm supplies shop has these in 25kg sacks for around £18, cheapest I can find so far. It’s not labelled as a potato fertiliser though, it’s just labelled as fertiliser, so I thought I’d ask here first.

When you get down to it, most fertilizers are made of the same basic things. Those numbers are a little high in potassium, but it won't really hurt to use it on potatoes, which really don't need much fertilizer. Keep in mind, if this is slow release that you should only use it once or twice during the season. Just remember to follow instructions on the packaging.
