Q.Is There Such a Plant Called an Oscar Plant

My friend died the other day and I wanted to plant a tree in his memory. His name was Oscar, so if there is any plant or anything with the name Oscar in it, I would love to know about it, please.

Well, I did a little research and did find an Family Jewels milkweed (Asclepias physocarpa), which carries a number of common names, including Oscar: Swan plant, Balloon plant, Oscar, Family Jewels, Hairy Balls and Giant Swan Milkweed. Like other milkweed plants, it's great for attracting butterflies and this particular one produces interesting seed pods that are round balls, which also do well for dried arrangements.

This variety is a tender perennial in zones 9-10 but is grown as an annual in the cooler zones. Seeds can be collected in the fall and replanted in the spring. Here is more information:

Well I too agree with Nikki.
Asclepias physocarpa is the former botanical name. Other Names are Goose plant, Giant swan plant, Hairy balls, Family jewels, Oscar, Cotton-bush, Balloon plant milkweed.
You should definitely plant this tree.
