Is There Any Successful Remedies For Field Bindweed Other Than Digging It?

The area is too large, in yard, to hand dig and I am too old deal with…i am hoping for an herbicide ( NOT 2-4 D )

If there isn't any other desirable vegetation you can use a nonselective herbicide to eradicate it. If you have grass growing in the area to protect, you can use a selective herbicide that doesn't harm grass, but it will likely contain 2,4 D.
