Q.Is There A Weed Killer That Will Not Damage Shrubs?
We have an extensive area planted with “grow low sumac.” Weeding has become a nightmare. Is there a product we can use that will not destroy the sumac? Thank you!

Glyphosate can be used near shrubs without it moving through the soil. You can hold cardboard up to protect the shrubs. Then load up on 3 inches of mulch around the shrubs to prevent more weeds. An alternative to glyphosate is glufosinate, and it does not move down to the roots so if it is accidentally sprayed on desirable plants, there is less chance of injury. Of course a pre-emergent weedkiller will help. Here is more:
