Is there a type of chilli which does not have seeds?

My friend gave me some chilli seeds to grow a while ago. However, the chilli that I got now is completely no seeds. Could I please be explained how it could happen?

Yes, This is an example of parthenocarpy. Peppers are notorious for this, since they are self fertile. Sometimes you will have a pepper flower that did not get pollinated at all. The pepper will still swell, and may or may not get as big, but will lack seeds since it was not pollinated.

Not all of your fruit will exhibit this trait, and is usually a sign of stress, but not always.
