Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a wood burning stove and would like to use the ash in my compost heap for my vegetable beds. However, I use products like Stovax Protector to prevent a build up of tar and creosote, etc. in the chimney (to help prevent risk of chimney fires). Is the ash safe to use?

I was not able to find anything definitive in my research. I would say that if there is any possibility of chemicals from your cleaning products intermingling with your wood ash, then I would refrain from using it.
