Is My White Spruce Dead

I can’t tell if this is dying. Many many brown areas. Or is there anything I can do to save it

It doesn't look completely dead, but once a conifer starts turning brown, the damage usually started months before.

Has the soil been refreshed or the plant repotted? Is the soil well draining? Are there drainage holes in the bottom of the container?
