Q.Is My Eucalyptus Tree Dying?

Zone London | w1ll1am1 added on April 2, 2022 | Answered

Hi, My eucalyptus tree has a hole in its trunk and the wood inside it is dead. I am worried it is dying. The trunk has gone very weird and brown. It has also shed all of its bark. Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do to help it? Thank you so much for any help you can give. Kind regards, Will

It doesn't look like it to me! The wood inside all trees is "dead" in a sense, so it isn't really a worry unless the wood inside is infected. It looks clean to me.

In my opinion- This tree suffered some serious injuries earlier on in its life. It looks to have recovered.

If you start to notice further decay, then you can look for fungal culprits, but this looks like a healthy specimen, to me.
