Have an allotment and have put mushroom compost on it. Is this a good thing and what’s best for the way forward. Please

Yes, it's a popular soil amendment that acts as an organic, slow release fertilizer. The downside is it is high in soluable salts, which can harm germinating seeds or salt sensitive plants like azaleas.
