Is it Too Late to Prune Crepe Myrtle

Anonymous added on April 10, 2014 | Answered

We moved into a house with several crepe myrtles near the fence. We live in north TN. We have been planning on having the trees trimmed, but haven't done it. Today I noticed some leaves beginning to form on some of the branches. Is it too late to trim them now?

I would not prune this late in the year, as you will lose blooms if you do. The following article should be of some help to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/best-crepe-myrtle-pruning-time-when-to-prune-crepe-myrtle.htm
