Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI Have built some wooden staging for my greenhouse, but where this will get wet, I have used a couple of coats of Yacht Varnish. I have some spare roofing felt, so was wondering if this could safely be used to add another protective layer, or would the bitumen affect the plants?

bitumen is a hydrocarbon, an organic compound and since it can create the lock in of warm temperatures it’s used a lot. if yours is roofing felt for a home it should be completely safe for your greenhouse but it might not warm up as much.
