Q.Is It Ok To Use Mosquito Bits On Rubber Plant Soil
I have been treating gnat flies on the soil of my rubber plant. I have placed sand and pebbles on the surface of the soil and the population has reduced. But they appear to be at drainage holes as I have sprayed these with fly killer and have found many dead flies at the base. I have also reduced watering and have bottom watered before I sprayed the fly killer at the drainage holes. Is it ok to use mosquito bits made into a type of tea solution and poured onto the soil of the rubber plant without distressing or killing the rubber plant? Should I also remove the sand from the soil surface?

Let the soil dry out between waterings. The sand will eventually work down into the soil so you don't need to remove it. The mosquito bits need moisture to work so that may increase the problem. This article has tips:
