Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comThere is mention of the beneficial aspects of adding salt water seaweed in a recent article on composting but no mention of fresh water plant material. I live on waterfront property off L.Ontario and have a great supply of seaweed that washes up on my shore.I have put some in my composter but thought others may be alerted to the use of fresh water seaweed.

Yes, you can use freshwater seaweed in your compost as well as ocean seaweed.
