Q.Is ericaceous compost alright to use for salvia plant

I am planting a Salvia g. Caramba and have some ericaceous compost. Is this alright for such a plant?

Yes, this will be fine. Salvia will grow in a very broad pH range, including much lower than the compost will provide.
