The problem with dried blood is that it does keep some animals away (like squirrels and chipmunks) but it attracts other animals (like raccoons and opossums). Consider carefully before using blood meal (as it is sold as) for critter deterrents.

If you still would like to use it, you can buy it at most plant nurseries and farm supply stores. It will be sold as blood meal.
