Is Rubber Plant an Acid Soil Loving Plant

What type of soil or fertizer do I use or plant food does it need? It is about 4 ft high with 6 shoots (houseplant).

Rubber tree plants only need to be fertilized occasionally, as they need very little feeding. When you do fertilize, do so in the spring and again in early summer, using a water soluble houseplant food at ½ strength. The rubber tree plant, or as it is more properly known, the ficus decora or ficus elastica, can adapt to a range of light. If it has “bright indirect light,” it would be acceptable to rewater when the soil reaches the slightly moist description – if you pull up some soil from at least 1/2 way down into the pot, and squeeze it between your fingers, it should feel soft and cool, and stick together in clumps that fall apart when you touch them. Water should not be visible when you squeeze the soil.

However, even if you have much lower light, you can still keep the decora – the key is to allow the soil to dry almost completely between watering
