Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in Hawaii and would like to try growing date palm trees. However, I live close to the ocean on the windward side of the island, so there is a lot of salt wind. Will a date palm be able to withstand this? The soil is sandy and well drained and there’s ample sun. I’ve had good luck with coconut palms in this environment despite the salt and wind.

Though your zone and growing conditions meet many of the needs of a Date Palm, the rainy seasons would likely be to much for the Palm.
Here is a link with great information. You can access your location and weather conditions.
