is pelletized 16-16-16 safe for pets

I have an 8-month lab and want to use 16-16-16 pelletized fertilizer on five fruit trees. Will this harm my pet?

Pelletized fertilizer is really only considered pet safe if you follow certain precautions such as being sure to give your grass a good long watering to allow the fertilizer to sink into the soil. Most websites advise waiting 24-48 hours after fertilizer application before allowing your pet back onto the lawn. I would recommend reading the instructions that came with your fertilizer for more specific information on how to safeguard your pets.
