Figuring out grasses when they are not in seed (flowering in the grass world) is woefully difficult. However, fast-growing, upright, light green and spreading describe yellow nutsedge. This grass is easy to pull but you don’t get the continuous underground root that connects the plants so it pops up again. I hope you find that linked article useful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/weeds/yellow-nutsedge-control.htm [1]
