Invasive Grass Going Under My Drive And Popping Up Everywhere

Question

this hard, spiky invasive grass is along side mine and my neighbour’s drive, and in everyone’s garden now! we can’t dig it out but want to get rid of it. Any ideas as to how we might kill it off? (I know that sounds awful) thankyou.
