Q.invasive eucalyptus roots

Zone Tucson, AZ | Sheila Strickler added on December 3, 2014 | Answered

How do I keep eucalyptus roots from invading my vegetable garden? Taking out the tree (50+ feet) is not an option. I need a barrier of some sort. I even tried containers – large chimney liners, but the roots grew into them as well, choking out the plants!

Probably you're going to need to install a root barrier around the outside of your garden. You can find different kinds, and where to order, by searching "root barriers" on your computer. You'll probably want to install it to around 2' deep.
