Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI am planting Brussels sprouts in whisky barrels. Is there any harm in planting flowers (pansies and snapdragons) around the Brussels sprouts plant while it’s young? Seems a shame to take up the whole barrel with just a single plant.

I would let the plant mature just a little before adding other flowers. You wouldn’t want them to outcompete the sprouts. Once it is established, then planting some things like nasturtiums and marigolds can actually help out by keeping pests away from your plants.
