Q.Insect damage to my duranta shrub

Zone New Port Richey, FL | Anonymous added on December 29, 2018 | Answered

My Duranta shrub is being damaged by something – there is a small white dot on a small black circle about 1/2 inch in diameter. There is a lot of this on the shrub. What is it and what is the best way to treat it? Many thanks.

Based on your description, I am unable to identify the pest. If you have pictures of this, then it would help me a lot. Alternatively, you can take a sample to your local extension service, and they will be able to help you. You can find the nearest one using this link: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/info/what-is-extension-service.htm

Alternatively, you can try using neem oil. This is a very broad range pest control. Just be careful not to apply in direct sun, or hot weather.
