Indoor Scented Gardenia Plant

Just been given beautiful healthy plant with lots of buds. Two came out perfectly. Now, remaining buds turning brown as they develop and not opening properly. Please can you tell me why?

They need more humidity. You can set it on a pebble tray to increase the humidity around the plant or you can mist the plant daily.
