Indoor oxalis shamrock potted plant

Question

I bought several shamrock plants to grow in my brightly lit kitchen, and at first they were okay. I bought them around St. Patrick’s day. They were really pretty. Today they look like they are failing, turning brown and falling over. I have tried more water and less, and also more or less light. Can someone help? I have always had good luck in spring. I do not have a picture at this time.

It is probably a water issue. Indoor potted plants are usually more prone to overwatering than underwatering. The best way to know when to water is to feel the soil- check to make sure the soil is dry about 1 inch below the surface before you water each time.

Another way to tell the difference is that a plant that is to dry will appear wilted, but when you water it, it will perk up. A plant that’s too wet may appear wilted, but it will still look wilted a couple hours after you water it.
