In the ground aloe plant

We live in Charleston South Carolina and Our aloe plant has been in the ground for three years now! Unfortunely we had a bad winter with 6 inches of snow which never happens here! Our aloe plant has just completely drooped and turned brown and soogy, there is green down deep. Should we clip it down? Will it come back? Any help will be appreciated!

That is terrible! I have seen it come back from near death before. I would go ahead and clip all of that dead growth off and let it recover. Make sure to cover it with burlap, or something else to protect it from the extreme cold. The main plant may die, but with some luck and patience, it could send up new replacement pups.
