The only plant I know of called “orchid lily” is a water plant with red fronds, botanical name Barclaya longifolia. It is commonly grown in aquariums. This plant can go dormant if the corm (at the base of the plant) is moved or disturbed, after flowering, or if there is a temperature change. In the wild this would be a response to a seasonal temperature change, but in an aquarium it could happen at any time.

After the dormant period, it should grow back just fine.
