impatiens dying

I have been sucessfully growing impatiens in a small flower bed near my front porch for 20 years. This year I lined the bed with solar (LED) powered landscape lights and most plants have died. The ones that haven’t are not doing well. Could it be the 24 hour lighting?

I don’t think that the LED lights have anything to do with the plants dying. That is likely a coincidence. LED lights like that do not put off enough light to act grow lights. It takes hundreds of LEDs to create that kind of light.

Have you watered the area less because the lights are there? When was the last time the area was fertilized? Did you see any failure of the plants late in the season last year? If you did, there are wilts that last in the soil for several years and this could also be the problem.
