Q.I’m thinking old my red bud tree is spindly due to some kind of internal bugs that were attracted to the damage done by mowers.
Is there any way I can save the tree?

A healthy eastern redbud may live as long as 50-75 years. But many succumb earlier to verticillium wilt, borers or canker. It isn't possible to diagnosis your tree's problem with a brief description. Your options are to have a professional arborist look at it and recommend treatment or to take pictures and one of your spindly branches to your county Extension Office. The Master Gardeners there may be able to help. Find your local office from this website: Search.Extension.org
