Q.I’m a new gardener

Zone 4 | securityman802 added on July 26, 2012 | Answered

This year my zucchini squash has only 1 squash and has more blossoms, but i don’t think I have any bees to pollinate. More female blossoms to hand pollinate. Do I need to pollinate each female blossom? Also, my cucumbers have many blossoms but do not see any baby cukes.

If you have not read this yet, the following article should help with pollinating your squash: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/squash/pollinate-squash-by-hand.htm

Cucumbers are identical to melons on how they pollinate, so this article will also apply to cucumbers: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/melons/hand-pollinating-melons.htm
