Q.floating bug screens

Zone St. Louis County, Missouri | AMP added on October 23, 2014 | Answered

If you use floating bug screens, doesn’t it keep out the good insects we need for pollination, as well as the pests? (We had watermelons give up due to bad beetles.)

If using netting to protect plants, cover them after the flowering season, so the pollinators can get in. There are many other organic methods that will help in the fight against plant-eaters: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/natural-pest-control-in-an-organic-garden.htm
