if i cut lettuces at 1″

Question

I planted ‘salad’ lettuces in my raised bed. It is at “baby’ lettuce stage. Do I cut above root for further growth or take root & all out?

If you want more growth, you don't want to cut the stem at all. Just take individual leaves.

If you are done with the plant and intend to harvest it, then you can cut just above the root. This will kill the plant off.
