Q.Identify The Grass Species And How To Remove

Hi everyone, trying to identify this grass species and ultimately remove it from my lawn. It is characterized by many small short blades along a single stem versus my desired single blade grass variety. This grass results in too much thatch which takes away from the green lush. Thanks for your expertise.

That looks like Poa bulbosa, the Bulbous Bluegrass. This link will take you to a Handbook from UCDavis.edu that will help you with eradication of this difficult species:
