I would like to make something very dull beautiful in my garden, but I’m not sure how!?

Hello,

We have recently moved into a new home that had gambions in situ prior to the build, above the gambions is what I can only describe as cliff rock with crumbling softer rocks?

I would like to cover this cliff face with lots of plants to make it prettier but also potentially to protect the land as I’m aware there are large trees just above and their their roots are poking out!

Is there any suggestions on how I can go about this?
