Q.Would like help identifying plant in amongst the flowers

Zone Northern Ireland | Patti Harper added on July 18, 2014 | Answered

I would like help in identifying a plant that has appeared in amongst the flowers and grasses in a patch of wildflowers. I am attaching a couple of photographs to see if you can help me, as I don’t know how to deal with it! It has appeared – in profusion – and at the moment some of the plants are up to 10 ft tall. Most of them have small white flowers but one or two have yellow flowers. I am trying to dig them out but this is very difficult, as the ground is very stoney and they have fairly long taproots. I would love to know what it is and if I should be concerned about it and try to get rid of it or just let it go!

Looks like it might be a variety of carpet weed.
