I Was Given A Plant Called A Little Boy Plant. It Had 4 Flowers On It But They Are Gone And Now The Leaves Are Turning Brown.

How do I take care of this plant? The roots of the plant are almost above the soil and I was thinking of transplanting it. We have it in the east window above the kitchen sink. I need some answers, hope you can help.
