honey as a rooting hormone

I want to use honey as a rooting hormone but don’t need a quart. Can you reduce the formula to make measurement of a cup of formula? I think I have it as 1/4 cup honey and 3/4 cup boiling water. Is that right? I want to start Hydrangea cuttings from my gorgeous Nikko Blue plant.
