Level My Old Lawn

Question

I want to level my old lawn. It is large with numerous low areas (all different sizes) all over the lawn. Should I order some topsoil and spend my spring and summer walking around shovelling dirt into the low areas and wait for them to grow in? Should I get a roller after that for the entire lawn?
