Q.Kill Sandburs in the Garden

Zone WESTERN NEBRASKA | scootinne added on April 3, 2014 | Answered

What can I use to kill sandburs that won’t harm what I have planted for my vegetable garden? My garden is approx. 30′ x 15′ and I grow tomatoes, green peppers, squash and other veggies. I have not planted anything yet but will be tilling the garden in a few weeks, and hope to plant in early May.

Thank you,

Scott Graham

The following article talks about controlling sand burrs in lawns, but the principles would be the same for garden area. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/weeds/controlling-sandbur-weeds.htm
Also, here's an article on organic control of weeds in the garden: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/weed-it-and-reap-how-to-make-your-garden-more-appealing-without-chemicals.htm
