I Thought I Bought A Zucchini Plant From The Store But It Is Very Yellow So Am I Doing Something Wrong Or Is This Not A Zucchini?

This is the first fruit to form on the plant. It appears to have stripes on it like a regular zucchini would, but it is yellow in appearance and grows more so by the day. It is not long and slender like regular zucchini. It was marked zucchini at the plant nursery.
