While repotting i cut some root tips.

It sounds like the plant may have contracted an infection! This can happen with, said, root pruning and with overwatering. Many times, when potting up, the new soil will remain uncolonized and wet for too long. This will cause infection. A fungicide and adjusting watering to allow the soil to dry fully will be necessary.
