Q.planting calla lily

Zone Northeast Pa | Lorraine Mclaughlin added on May 17, 2015 | Answered

I received a calla lily for Mother’s day. I want to plant it but I need to know when this can be done. Do I need to wait to dry the bulb out? Can I plant it immediately? Do I need to wait until fall? I live in Northeast Pa. Thank you.

You may go ahead and plant out your calla lily plant after danger of frost. You should be safe in your region now.
You will need to dig up your rhizomes in the fall and store, as they are only hardy to zones 8 thru 10.
