mother of thyme

I read on one of the web sites that sells plants and seeds that mother of thyme chokes out weeds and grass and takes over and that it is “not a member of the mint family for nothing!” I bought 3000 seeds to do a sloping lot going down to a lake. Will it choke out or not and, if so, how do I prep the ground? I need help, please.

I have Creeping Thyme planted in my garden and love it as a ground cover.
It does a great job of spreading and filling in and I do not fine it invasive at all. It is very easy to cut out a portion and place in a new growing spot if you need to redirect the plant.

It does a great job holding down the weeds, but that’s not to say a few vigorous weeds will not poke their way through.

Here is a great link.
